We are very sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Eugene Rozanov. Eugene was a long-standing and active member of the SPARC scientific community.  His work was particularly important to SPARC activities on chemistry-climate modelling, solar influences on the atmosphere and climate, and energetic particle precipitation. He contributed to the SPARC CCMVal/CCMI activities with the SOCOL chemistry-climate model and was actively involved in SOLARIS-HEPPA. We will remember Eugene as an accomplished scientist, a dedicated contributor to the SPARC community,

Ram served on the Joint Scientific Committee of the World Climate Research Program and for several years as part of APARC (formally SPARC). Since 1992 he has been a Lead Author or Coordinating Lead Author for each of the IPCC’s assessment reports.  He was a three-time recipient of the WMO Norbert-Gerbier MUMM International Award from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) which he received as a co-author of
