APARC Data Collection and Archive
The APARC Data Centre is hosted by the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA). CEDA serves the environmental science community by the provision of data centres, data analysis & access, and research project participation. Services are provided on behalf of the UK-based Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) via the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) and the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO). The APARC Data Centre provides resources to enable the collection and archiving of data that are used for APARC activities at the CEDA Archive. It also provides a means for APARC project scientists to exchange and store their data and documentation as well as to disseminate their data and results to the broader scientific community. The APARC Office is available to provide assistance with data access and general inquiries to all Data Centre users.
Access to APARC Project Data
The APARC Data Centre provides open access to most data sets hosted at the CEDA Archive. Discover APARC data sets by entering „APARC“ or „SPARC“ as search terms in CEDA’s search catalogue. Open access is provided for the benefit of the APARC scientific community, to promote new research and applications beyond the scope of the original studies, and to provide transparency and reproducibility of published results. Certain data sets require user agreements while others remain restricted to access by APARC project scientists pending publication of associated analysis. Currently, the following data collections are available:
- Data produced by the CCMI-2022 set of experiments defined by the APARC- and IGAC-supported Chemistry-Climate Model Initiative (CCMI)
- Data produced by the Stratospheric Nudging And Predictable Surface Impacts (SNAPSI) model intercomparison project
- Zonal-mean global atmospheric reanalyses on pressure levels from the SPARC Reanalysis Intercomparison Project (S-RIP)
- IGAC/SPARC Chemistry-Climate Model Initiative Phase-1 (CCMI-1) model data output
- model data from the Atmospheric Chemistry & Climate Model Intercomparison Project (ACCMIP)
- CCMVal (Chemistry Climate Model Validation Activity) coupled chemistry climate model output
Water budget and Lagrangian analysis of tropical tropopause in simulations with Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model version 3 (HadGEM3)
