The main gates of the DLR site is about a 10-15 min walk from the Courtyard hotel. You will have to check in there.
S-Bahn Stop: Neugilching (S-bahn line 8 – yellow; Tarif Zone 2). ~ 20 min walk from there, or take bus
Bus stop: Oberpaffenhofen, DLR (directly at front gate)

Transport
Participants that were attending the IUGG in Berlin prior to the SSG Meeting can get to Munich via ICE train. This is a very conveniant direct conection, takes about four hours of travel and leaves every two hours from Berlin Central. Bookings can be made on the Deutsche Bahn website or ask the SPARC office for support.
Since DLR is situated oudsite of Munich you need to take tha public transport to get there. Time tables and ticets can be checked onm the MVV-website or directly at the strations. To get to Oberpfaffenhofen or Wessling you need to take the S8 and get off at Neugilching (for DLR and the Courtyard Hotel).
Visa requirements
Visa requirements to enter Germany vary greatly between nationalities and it is therefore essential to check visa requirements before travelling. Visas must be obtained prior to arrival in the country and it is the responsibility of each participant to obtain the required entry visa to Germany. Please note that a Schengen visa is required, even for transiting through Schengen-zone European countries.

Local Information
Weather
July is full summer in Munich. Not so great for the views of the Alps, but great for taking a swim in one of the lakes nearby. Temperatures range from 15 – 30 degrees Celcius (average about 24 degrees). Be prepared for the occational downpour from a summer-thunderstorm!
