EOS publication on Future Directions for the World Climate Research Programme
Guy Brasseur, Chair of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Joint Scientific Committee, and David Carlson, Director of WCRP’s Joint Planning Staff, say in a recent EOS publication: “The worldwide climate research community has talent, dedication, and a clear sense of knowledge gaps. It needs to close those gaps and convey its messages effectively to user communities”.

WCRP/WWRP International Prize for Model Development 2015 – Call for Nominations
In recognition of the essential role model development plays to weather and climate science, the WCRP and WWRP are seeking nominations for the “WCRP/WWRP International Prize for Model Development”. The prize will be awarded annually for an outstanding contribution to weather and climate model development by an early- to mid-career researcher.
